The local expert source for computer networks and support to fit your needs
A Design One client, a busy accounting firm, was plagued with software running at a crawl and lack of disk space. Their backup was taking over a half day and they were experiencing frequent crashes. The need for higher email volume, more storage, and improved security was going to make matters worse, not better. The Microsoft Windows Small Business Server Standard 2008 and Swing Migration solved their problems and set them up for future growth.
The upgrade from their existing server to their new server was done over a weekend without any interruption to the firm’s normal operations. The transition was accomplished using the Swing Migration so that no changes were required to the workstations to operate with the new Small Business Server. We maintained the operation of the old server so that it would be available in the event of any unforeseen problems. But, as expected, there were no problems and the transition of their applications and files to the new server was seamless.
Stepping up to the 64-bit Microsoft Server 2008 gave the firm the fast performance for their software and for the back-up of all of the system files. The increased storage capacity of Server 2008 met the firm’s needs to expand the Time Matters® client management data base and room for growth of their files. Exchange 2007 gave the accounting firm the platform to expand their use of e-mail and the Internet and remote access in a fast and secure manner. Best of all, the frequent crashes and the workstations slowdowns were eliminated.
Design One provides solid and innovative solutions for our clients. A member of our Business network, Brian Brandenburg at Cartridge World, recently wrote in their newsletter:
I don’t know about you but we rely so much on our technology that minor outages with hardware, software, and especially with the network, can cause major disruptions to our business. I’ve discovered a great local business that helps reduce those worries.
Design One is a full-service computer network solutions company that not only analyzes designs and provides the best networking solution for your business but also provides complete Help Desk support services. I’ve yet to find a client of theirs who is not very happy with their Design One-provided network and accompanying support.
When I asked Matthew Shapiro, the President, how Design One keeps their clients so happy, I learned the following:
• Their senior staff has been with them for an average of 18 years, and they have more than 100 years of combined technical experience. In other words, they’ve seen and solved all the networking challenges and problems.
• They know networking and computers like the backs of their hands and are able to connect computers together into a reliable network and to train users (and some of us need a lot of training) to use the network.
• Their service doesn’t end with the new network. They provide support equal to having your own in-house information services staff, including advice about emerging technologies, and how they can help you serve your clients better.
• Their emergency service is unbeatable. Their clients confirm that Design One is always there promptly whenever a problem arises.
I’m always grateful to find a trusted local business and found one with Design One. If you ever need networking help or are thinking of outsourcing your IT needs, I highly recommend Design One
