Email Matthew
As President of Design One, Matthew oversees all operations for the growing IT company. An engineer by trade, Matthew has designed and implemented more than 100 Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks for law firms, real estate offices and other small businesses. Matthew consults with clients about their needs and how technology can help them serve their clients better and faster and he recently developed and installed a network system that provides complete and secure access for more than 200 remote users with the capability to access and update a complex database.

Email Allen
Allen founded Design One in 1981 to provide computer equipment, software, and support to Legal and Small Businesses. Design One also provided networking consulting services to the federal government. Under Allen’s technical direction, Design One became the first company in the local area to provide complete Network Services and Support and installed a Novell network for a law firm in Rockville in 1987. Allen has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and more than 40 years of computer design experience and several patents on computer equipment. He lectures and writes articles for local and national civic and bar associations on networking, document organization and management, and computer system configuration.
Senior Network Engineer, CNE
Paul provides the technical direction for Design One. Since joining the company in 1989, he has installed several hundred Novell, Microsoft NT, Citrix Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. Paul has developed exceptional troubleshooting skills during his 20+ years with Design One and is highly regarded by our clients for his technical expertise.
Paul received his technical training with the United States Air Force. He worked for Watkins Johnson for more than 11 years designing, testing, and installing sophisticated analog and computer-based Radio Frequency systems.
Software Trainer and Consultant
Don has over 35 years of experience in computer training and 17 years of experience in software training and consulting. He provides classroom training and one-on-one support in most of the popular software packages, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect Suite, Time Matters, HotDocs, QuickBooks, PageMaker and Dragon Naturally Speaking.
Along with client training, Don provides consulting support for the planning, setup and integration of Time Matters at client sites, and assists clients in applying and integrating software packages in their organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering.
Senior Network Engineer
CNE, MCSE, B.S.E.E.
Craig joined Design One as a Senior Network Engineer in 1992. He is familiar with the service patches that provide maximum protection against viruses as well as adware and spyware assaults on computer networks. Craig also has expertise with “hot fixes” and other settings that are needed to ‘fine tune’ thin client networks to provide fast and reliable performance. Craig has over 20 years of technical computer experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

As Network Engineer for Design One, Matthew is personally responsible for the support of many of our client networks and provides preventive maintenance. With his detailed level of service Matthew brings an exceptional level of service to each job he does.

Jeff is a Network Engineer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, along with A+ and Network+ certifications. He has recently completed his MCSE. He has several years of operations management experience with a local business. Jeff understands the operational needs of small to medium-sized businesses and the importance of good IT support.
